展覽介紹

靜物畫是西方繪畫四大類別中的一種(其他三類為風景畫、歷史畫及肖像畫),這類作品通常具有強烈的象徵性,透過對有生物或無生物的寫實描繪,來表達生命易逝的感傷與虛無之感.花卉是靜物畫中的主流題材,一方面,綻放的花朵本身具有不可言喻的視覺之美,另一方面,花朵短暫的生滅正是無常自然最恰當的比喻之一.所以即使在靜物畫慢慢退出繪畫的舞台後,花卉靜物創作卻一直沒有被藝術家們摒棄,如十九世紀的塞尚(Paul Cézanne,1839-1906年)、梵谷(Vincent Willem van Gogh,1853-1890)到二十世紀的歐吉芙(Georgia Totto O'Keeffe,1887-1986)都延續著繪畫史的傳統,積極創造屬於自己的花卉美學.

 

台灣藝術家林金田先生的花卉靜物畫,也是在這一繪畫體系中誕生;他的作品奠基於西方傳統,卻融入濃厚的東方思想.林金田先生是台灣著名的文人畫家,他曾服務公職30年,2013年從文化部政務次長的職位退休,成為專職畫家,作品以油畫與水彩為主,筆觸豪邁、色彩飽滿、肌理深厚,感性的基調具有強烈的藝術感染力.林金田先生的創作題材多元豐富,風景、肖像、靜物皆有,此次展覽以花卉靜物畫為主,共選出12件油畫及1件水彩畫,另展出一件銅雕作品.本展引唐朝詩人白居易的名詩〈花非花〉為題,是為解讀其作品中的「無常」思想,期盼賞畫之人順著白居易的詩路脈絡,領略林金田獨特的花卉美學.

 

藝術家介紹

林金田先生從事創作將近二十年,曾跟短暫隨名師學畫,之後靠著自學探索藝術世界的奧妙.2013年由文化部政務次長職位退休後,全心投入創作,成為專職畫家.其作品曾獲中央機關美展水彩佳作(2003)、中央機關美展油畫入選(2004/2005/2006/2007)、第一屆台灣國展油畫優選(2005)、南美獎西畫第三名(2006)、大墩美展油畫第一名(2006)、 青溪新文藝金環獎第一名(2007)、全國公教美展第二名(2009)、全國百號油畫展優選(2009)等獎項榮譽,同時舉辦過數十場聯展與全國性個展.此外,退休後他仍關心台灣藝文發展,擔任「台灣藝術家法國沙龍學會」、「南投投緣畫會」等協會理事長,積極參與並推動國際交流活動.2017年4月策劃「印象–福爾摩沙:台灣藝術家法國交流特展」,帶領台灣藝術家前往法國進行展覽與交流活動,與國際接軌.        

Introduction

Lin Chin-Tien was born in Nantou, Tsaotun in 1995. He had worked as a public servant for 34 years and had been the vice chairman of the Taiwan Provincial Literature Council and the curator of Academia Historica. In 2011, he had been appointd to be the vice chairman of the Council for Cultural Affairs and  in 2012 the first deputy minister of the Ministry of Culture Affairs, Taiwan. 

Lin Chin-Tien has been an amateur painter since 2001. In 2013, when he was at the peak of his official career, he decided to apply for retirement. He has devoted himself thoroughly to art since then and works as an professional painter until now. Konwing that it is late for him to start a career as a professional artist, he makes full use of time to create artworks and wins many prizes in important competitions in Taiwan, for exsample, the first prize of Dadun Fine Art Awards in 2006. Since 2015, he holds travel exhibitions regularly and also engages himself in national art projects in USA, France, Japan, Korea and China. 

Lin Chin-Tien has made paintings of watercolors, pastels, oil color and acrylic color. His early paintings are in a realistic style, but in recent years, he is moving from the early style towards abstract and poetic abstract style. His paintings include the most common categories as  landscape, portrait and  still life and have a wide range of topics. As an artist, he has made a name through rich emotion and the dynamic tones of his paintings. 

This exhibition has presented 13 flora still life paintings and 1 piece of copper statue which reveals the most important characteristic of his creation.
