藝術家高惠芬

高惠芬，1974年畢業於台灣師範大學美術系，台灣雲林人．她於1976年舉辦第一場個展後，此後三十年的歲月致力於美術創作，曾於海內外舉辦過38場個展，參加超過百場聯展，並且獲得許多大獎的肯定．

高惠芬屬傳統美院出身，傳統與現代的各種創作技法精湛純熟．然而她並未拘泥於一方，在30餘年的創作生涯中，融貫東西方特色，創造屬於個人獨樹一格的畫風．

高惠芬早期創作以水墨為主，尤以彩墨為佳，中後期後進行了許多大膽的嘗試，在傳統水墨畫裡加入西畫的寫實風格，同時也進行具有東方底蘊的水彩與油畫創作．其畫作中具有鮮明的西方色調，卻也散發著溫潤的東方氣韻．近期她從事陶瓷彩繪創作，為藝術生涯開拓了嶄新的面向．

About Kao Carol

Carol Kao graduated from Department of Fine Arts, National Normal University in 1974. 1976 she held her first solo exhibition in Taiwan, Yunlin. Since then, she has devoted herself to art more than 30 years. Her early works chiefly consist of traditional ink and wash paintings, and she long immersed herself in the world of Chinese literati painting. As a result, her paintings are infused with precise brushwork and lively use of ink tones.

At the same time, Carol Kao commonly adopts and reinterprets the Western painting theory and practice and incorporate them in her paintings using her own unique method. This artistic style blending East and West, and employing both ink and colored pigments, is one of the things that make Kao’s paintings so amazing.

After having established a foundation in ink and wash paintings, Carol Kao boldly began experimenting with various painting media and techniques, and her works span the categories of ink and wash, watercolors, oil paintings, and porcelain paintings.

Carol Kao has held 38 solo exhibitions in the Taiwan and overseas between 1974 and 2016, and has participated in more than 100 joint exhibitions. She has also received many important awards of art, such as The Award of Excellence at The Taipei Exhibition of Asian Art (1986),” “Finalist at the 1st Asian International Art Exhibition,” and is the winner of the “Minister of Education Social EducationalPublic Service

Award.”
